Biography:
Zafer A. Akin is an experienced litigator, particularly in the areas of discrimination, sexual harassment, civil rights litigation, employment law and other civil litigation. Born in Konya, Turkey, Mr. Akin received his J.D. from Hofstra University in 1994 and a B.S. in accounting and business administration from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York in 1991. He is admitted to the bars of the states of New York and New Jersey and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
Mr. Akin is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers, and is also a notary public, a member of the Turkish-American Business Forum since 2000, and has served as an arbitrator for the Civil Court of the City of New York since 2001. Mr. Akin is also a former New York State real estate broker from 2000 to 2002.
Mr. Akin is fluent in both English and Turkish.
